Lotus come over all gobsmacked after Pastor Maldonado survives some slightly hairy moments to grab seventh from Max Verstappen in the closing stages.

Sebastian Vettel tells Ferrari to not dwell on their slow pit stop - while 34-year-old Felipe Massa plays along with a ribbing from the Williams pit wall after sealing his first podium finish of the season.

It is Vettel’s turn for dry humour after Ferrari inform him of the final classification…

…which is in stark contrast to Kimi Raikkonen’s typically forthright appraisal of his team after he is eliminated in the first part of qualifying.

Kvyat isn’t best pleased after being held up by Red Bull team mate Daniel Ricciardo as the pair fight to progress out of Q1.
“Okay Jenson that’s P1...”
“…I’m afraid that’s P17, and we are out.”
As conditions improve wildly in Q1, Jenson Button’s engineer has the unusual honour of telling the McLaren driver that he’s dropped from 1st to 17th in a matter of minutes.
“How many changes do you want me to do? Can I just focus on driving, or…”
Lewis Hamilton not so subtly tells his Mercedes team that he’d rather not make further settings adjustments during FP1.
“It’s very slippery, but I don’t care. We need to run.” (Carlos Sainz)

The heavens open and the track turns almost to ice in FP3, but the majority of the field opt to run despite the treacherous conditions.
