A guide to who's who in the Silverstone paddock
As befits the jewel in the British racing calendar, celebrities have been thick on the ground over the Silverstone weekend.
Familiar faces include HRH The Duke of Kent, Secretary of State for Wales Peter Hain, world snooker champion Ronnie OSullivan, NBA basketball star Dennis Rodman, Emma Noble, Jordan and Melinda Messenger, TV presenter Carole Vorderman, F1 comes to Regent Street co-organiser Harvey Goldsmith, and Britains Minister for Sport and Tourism, Richard Caborn.
Seen at Jordan yesterday were I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! television star and former Atomic Kitten Kerry McFadden, along with her husband and one-time Westlife singer Bryan.
Racing faces include ex-Formula One stars Derek Warwick and Cliff Allison, and Wing Commander Andy Green, the fastest man on earth who drove ThrustSSC through the sound barrier at 763.035 mph (1227.723 kph) on October 15 1997 on Nevadas Black Rock Desert.
Among those listed to attend today are Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie; Harry Potter star Rupert Grint; Tamzin Outhwaite, former star of British soap Eastenders and soon-to-be Hollywood starlet; Nick Moran from the hit movie Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and Irish actor Liam Cunningham; from the footballing world, Arsenals Dennis Bergkamp, Liverpool player and Finland captain Sami Hypia and Aston Villa manager David OLeary; The Beach Boys; singer Dannii Minogue; model Jodie Kidd; British TV presenters Vernon Kay and Tess Daly; Britains Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott, and Secretary of State for Defence Geoff Hoon, are also expected.
In yesterdays International Formula 3000 encounter, Formula One-bound Vitantonio Liuzzi raced to yet another victory, his fifth from the six races held so far, ahead of archrival Enrico Toccacelo. Liuzzi now has an eight-point championship lead with four races left.
