Bruni holds key to 2004 Minardi line-up 18 Nov 2003
Minardi have said that the team's 2004 line-up cannot be determined until they have concluded negotiations with current test driver Gianmaria Bruni.
"At the moment we are working hard to come to an agreement to make Gianmaria Bruni our official race car driver for the 2004 season," Managing Director Gian Carlo Minardi told the team's official web site.
"The choice of other drivers and other test drivers will be based on the outcome of this agreement," he added.
Minardi finished their 2003 campaign with Jos Verstappen and Nicolas Kiesa. However, neither man has so far been re-confirmed for 2004 and the team is known to be in talks with other drivers.
"For now, I can only say that we are in contact with race car drivers who have already competed with Minardi and with others who haven't," said Minardi.
Bruni, 22, drove for the team in several of this year's Friday morning Grand Prix test sessions. The Italian driver was also a frontrunner in this season's Euro 3000 series.
