Formula One racing's governing body, the FIA, announced a revised 2004 calendar on Friday which will see next season's French and British Grands Prix swap dates. The Silverstone race will now take place on July 11, a week later than originally scheduled, while the Magny-Cours round moves forward to take the July 4 slot.

However, the French race's place on the 2004 calendar remains provisional. According to the FIA, the event will only take place if all the competing teams agree and only if race organisers reach a satisfactory contract with Formula One Management before December 31 of this year.

The inaugural Grands Prix of Bahrain (April 4) and China (September 26), which previously had provisional status, have now both been fully confirmed.
