No crisis at Ferrari says di Montezemolo 08 Apr 2003
Ferrari president Luca di Montezemelo has played down any talk of a crisis at Ferrari by claiming the team can recover from its disappointing start to the season.
"It has been a difficult year so far, but we still have time to recover," said di Montezemelo. "Brazil's race was like playing roulette. The best lap of the race was once again by Ferrari, so that was encouraging. We need to learn our lessons and look forward with optimism, but also remain calm and look at ways of improving."
Rubens Barrichello's second-place in Malaysia is the Italian team's only podium finish from 2003's first three races, and last weekend's Brazilian grand prix was the first time Ferrari has finished without points since the Nürburgring in 1999. To add to the statistics, Sunday's race was the first time Michael Schumacher has failed to finish a grand prix in almost two years. The last time was at Hockenheim, July 2001.
