At Indianapolis Motor Speedway on the Wednesday prior to the Canadian Grand Prix BMW Williams pilot Juan Pablo Montoya is scheduled to trade places - and seats - with NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon.

On June 11th Montoya will drive Gordon's NASCAR Winston Cup Chevrolet - and at the same time 31 year-old Californian-born Gordon will be settling into Montoya's BMW Williams Formula One car.

When each goes out on to the track it will mark the first time they have tried the different discipline of racing.

"I'm just excited about this opportunity," Gordon said. "It's something I've dreamed of, just getting behind the wheel of an F1 car and seeing what it was like. I don't plan on going F1 racing, but I would love to just get that experience."

Montoya is also excited. "It will be very interesting for me, and driving a big, heavy NASCAR will certainly be different to driving a Formula One car. I will enjoy the opportunity, and I don't think Jeff should be concerned that I will take away his job."
