Weather report, Sunday - Barcelona 04 May 2003

Fans of Fernando Alonso (ESP) Renault cheer on their hero.
Formula One World Championship, Rd5, Spanish Grand Prix, Barcelona, Spain, 3 May 2003

Good morning from the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, where it is presently 18 degrees celcius and conditions are perfect for racing. Humidity is 77 percent, visibility five miles (eight kilometres), and the wind is a gentle 3.4 m/s (seven mph) easterly.

There's still officially a 10 percent chance of rain today, but most believe it will stay dry. The showers are much more likely tomorrow, when (from the point of view of the racing at least) it won't matter.

We are forecast a high temperature of 23 degrees celcius here today, which means the race is likely to place a premium on tyre conservation.
