Thousands of Formula One fans witnessed Juan Pablo Montoya's first Monaco Grand Prix victory on Sunday as the crowds took over every available vantage point in the crowded Principality.

Race organisers increased the grandstand capacity to 25,000 and the standing capacity to 10,000 for the 2003 event and both were sell-outs on every day of the meeting.

Add in the spectators on the yachts in the harbour and in the myriad apartments and buildings overlooking the race track and it is safe to estimate that during the four days of the meeting at least 150,000 people watched the activity in Monaco.
