Schumacher renews Ferrari contract 09 Jun 2003
Michael Schumacher has extended his contract with Ferrari for a further two seasons, the team announced on Monday. The new contract means Schumacher will drive for the Italian constructor until at least the end of 2006.
Key members of Ferrari's technical staff have also signed up to stay with the team until the end of 2006. Managing Director Jean Todt, Technical Director Ross Brawn, Engine Director Paulo Martinelli, Chief Designer Rory Byrne and head of engine design Gilles Simon will all continue to work alongside Schumacher.
Schumacher's contract was due to expire at the end of 2004. Since he joined Ferrari in 1996 the team has won four constructors' championships and three drivers' titles.
