Friday test in France for Montagny 19 Jun 2003
Renault test driver Franck Montagny will get the chance to impress his home crowd next month when he participates in Friday morning's private test session for the French Grand Prix.
In his first Formula One appearance at a Grand Prix meeting, Montagny will drive Renault's third car during the two-hour test alongside regular drivers Fernando Alonso and Jarno Trulli.
The Frenchman joined Renault as a test driver at the beginning of 2003. He is also participating in this year's World Series by Nissan formula and currently leads the championship, with five wins from six races.
Renault's other test driver, Allan McNish, will re-assume responsibility for Friday morning test sessions from the British Grand Prix onwards.
Renault is one of four teams, along with Jaguar, Jordan and Minardi, who this year agreed to limit its testing away from races in return for the additional Friday session at each Grand Prix.
