Sunday weather report 20 Jul 2003
Welcome to Grand Prix day here at Silverstone. At eight o'clock local time this morning, as these words are written, a south-westerly breeze is making it necessary to wear jackets, but the skies are blue interspersed with cloud and the chance of rain has diminished to 10 percent.
At one stage the skies towards nearby Banbury were black, but that has now cleared up and the forecast indicates that the race will be held in the dry.
A temperature high of 22 degrees Celsius is expected, and if the race is anywhere near as hot as qualifying was yesterday, tyre degradation will again play a crucial role this afternoon.
