Newly-crowned Formula 3000 champion Bjorn Wirdheim will make his Formula One debut in September when he drives for Jordan in the Friday morning test session at the Italian Grand Prix.

Wirdheim, who clinched the 2003 F3000 title on Saturday with a second place at Hockenheim, will also test for Jordan at Monza early next month ahead of his maiden Grand Prix appearance on September 12. In preparation the 23 year-old Swede had a seat fitting with Jordan over the German Grand Prix weekend.

He will become the second additional driver to run for the team in Friday testing this season, following in the footsteps of F3000 rival Zsolt Baumgartner, who appeared for Jordan at Hockenheim and will do so again at his home race in Hungary later this month.
