Official forecasts issued by the press office here in Interlagos, which hosts the 18th and final round of the FIA Formula One World Championship, suggest there is a 60 percent chance of rain today, and up to two millimetres are expected. That’s the good news.

The bad news is that 15 mm are expected tomorrow, when the chance of precipitation increases to 80 percent. It is part of a major thunderstorm that is due to hit the region, exactly as it did in the March race here last year.
