Bahrain and Valencia will host a unique, two-part 2005 launch ceremony by the Williams team in January, it has been announced.

In the first part, Williams will reveal their line-up and team livery for the new season at the Bahrain International Circuit on January 7. Former Jaguar star Mark Webber is the only driver confirmed so far.

The Spanish circuit of Valencia, a popular Formula One testing venue, is then provisionally scheduled to host the second part of the ceremony, the formal launch and first track outing for the team’s 2005 car, the FW27, on January 31.

Williams will be conducting a number of tests before the end of the year, aimed at finalising their choice of team mate for Webber. Test driver Antonia Pizzonia, BAR third driver Anthony Davidson and 2004 Jordan racer Nick Heidfeld will all be given a chance to impress in this year’s FW26 machine.

Williams are only the second team to announce 2005 launch dates. Sauber will unveil their new car, the C24, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on January 11.
