Melbourne launch date for Minardi 23 Nov 2004
Minardi are to officially launch their 2005 campaign on the Thursday prior to the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, as part of celebrations marking the tenth running of the race in Melbourne.
Race organisers have announced that the opening day of the Grand Prix meeting will be known as Peoples Day, with free general admission for fans, and Minardi boss Paul Stoddart has delayed his teams launch to coincide with this so that the public can participate and meet the drivers.
Who those drivers will be is not yet certain. The team is testing a number of hopefuls during a five-day test at Misano in Italy this week.
Minardi have already confirmed that they will be starting the new season with their 2004 car and engine package. The Cosworth-powered PS05 is provisionally scheduled to make its race debut at round four of the championship in France.
