Red Bull Racing are to run Swiss driver Neel Jani at Jerez on Friday as part of the team’s ongoing driver evaluation programme.

Jani is a member of the Red Bull driver development programme, and performed testing duties with Sauber in 2003 and 2004. He also competed intermittently in this season’s Formula Renault V6 Eurocup, finishing the championship fourth.

Red Bull’s three-day Jerez session got underway on Wednesday, with Christian Klien and Vitantonio Liuzzi again in action for the Austrian-owned team. Klien will be predominantly testing the 2004-spec R5 chassis, while Liuzzi will be mainly in the interim R5C.

Red Bull have yet to confirm race drivers for 2005.
