Red Bull Racing test for Coulthard 08 Dec 2004
David Coulthards Formula One prospects have received a boost with news of a test with the Red Bull team at Jerez on Wednesday.
Coulthard, who has no confirmed seat for 2005 after driving his final race for McLaren in October, visited the Red Bull factory earlier this week for a seat fitting, ahead of his first outing with team in Spain.
"I am pleased to have the opportunity to join the team at Jerez this week and am really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of an F1 car," said Coulthard. "I have spoken to Dietrich Mateschitz, the new team owner, and it has been good to hear the plans for Red Bull Racing's future - it is certainly an exciting new team."
The Scottish driver, a veteran of nine seasons with McLaren, had been linked to a Jaguar seat before the team was taken over by Red Bull last month. However, their testing since then has been carried out by Christian Klien and Vitantonio Liuzzi, with no news about who will race for the squad in 2005.
