Fine for Ferrari, reprimand for Ralf 04 Apr 2004
The Ferrari team have been fined US$10,000 for their part in a pit-lane incident involving Rubens Barrichello and Renaults Jarno Trulli during Sundays Grand Prix of Bahrain.
The two drivers nearly collided as they left the pits following their first stops. After viewing video footage and hearing evidence from both teams, officials decided that Ferrari had released Barrichello when it was unsafe to do so.
Meanwhile, Williams driver Ralf Schumacher was given an official reprimand for his collision with the BAR of Takuma Sato early in the race. Sato eventually finished fifth, while Schumacher, who spun in the incident, came back through the field to take seventh place.
