Sunday weather update - heavy rain overnight 25 Apr 2004
Welcome to race day at the 2004 San Marino Grand Prix, the fourth round of the 2004 FIA Formula One World Championship and the first European leg.
The sky above Imola has a bleary look this morning after heavy rain which began at eight o'clock last night and did not stop for more than three hours. Showers had been expected in the region, but this was a lot heavier.
The air is significantly cooler too, and that will be the case all day. The ambient temperature is not expected to exceed 16 degrees Celsius (yesterday's high was 23) and as a result the track temperature will also be lower than yesterday's 31 high. As has been the case in the previous three races, that may help the Bridgestone runners.
If it rains again, it will probably be in the late afternoon, so the race should be dry.
