Sauber conclude Silverstone programme 14 May 2004
Sauber wrapped up their three-day Silverstone test on Thursday, with Giancarlo Fisichella adding another 108 laps to the Swiss teams tally for the week.
In conditions described by the team as friendly, Fisichella set a best time of 1m 18.382s in the C23 around the 5.141km British Grand Prix circuit.
"In the morning we have done some set-up work for the next races, reported race engineer Mike Krack. Later we assessed a new front wing and worked with Bridgestone on the tyre construction for the races in Montreal and Indianapolis.
"Overall I can say that thanks to good weather and track conditions all three days through we were able to run a good test and could complete the whole programme of the week."
Sauber will next be testing at Monza from June 1-4.
Ferrari were also in action on Thursday. Michael Schumacher drove 108 laps at Fiorano, with a best time of 56.342s, continuing with preparation work for the Monaco Grand Prix, trying tyres and new components. And at Mugello, Rubens Barrichello completed 76 laps on a similar programme, setting a fastest time of 1m 19.737s.
The world champions continue work on Friday, with Barrichello taking over from Schumacher at Fiorano and Luca Badoer behind the wheel at Mugello.
