Saturday weather update - staying changeable 03 Jul 2004
Welcome back to qualifying day at the French Grand Prix here in Never Magny-Cours, the 10th round of the 2004 FIA Formula One World Championship.
Yesterday’s on-off weather certainly caused a few upsets, with rain showers spoiling both practice sessions rather as they did qualifying back in 1999. As a result nobody got a clear idea of the all-important tyre choice, and as a result it is likely the teams will be permitted to make that in this morning’s practice session.
It is thus doubly important that the weather plays ball, but the forecast is for more changeable conditions all through the day. The expected temperature high remains 23 degrees Celsius, however. It will be hotter still for the race tomorrow, but the likelihood of showers in the region will be slightly higher then.
