Minardis John Walton passes away 10 Jul 2004
Minardi announced this morning that the teams Sporting Director John Walton has died, aged 47, after suffering a heart attack last Tuesday.
The Minardi F1 Team is profoundly saddened to report that its Sporting Director, John Walton, passed away peacefully at 23:18 last night (Friday) at St Thomas's Hospital, in London, with his family at his bedside, read a team statement.
Irishman Walton began his motorsport career working with Eddie Jordan while still a teenager. He went on to work with several Formula One teams, including Benetton, Jordan, Arrows and Prost. He joined Minardi in 2002.
