Albers' Jordan test delayed until December 19 Aug 2004
Dutch driver Christian Albers has postponed his scheduled September test with Jordan to focus on his championship campaign in the German DTM series.
Albers, a former Minardi test driver, was due to drive for Jordan at Silverstone on September 15 in a test arranged through Dutch sponsors Trust. However, his run is now expected to take place at Jerez in December, allowing him to concentrate on winning the DTM title.
"I am very enthusiastic about the test session at Jordan and appreciate their flexibility," Albers said on his official web site. "After this DTM season I will be well prepared for the test and I want to show the team that I belong in Formula One racing. This is my ultimate aim and I hope to drive for one of the top teams."
With three races of the DTM series remaining, Albers lies second in the driver standings, nine points behind leader Mattias Ekstrom.
