Two superstars from other sporting arenas were among the celebrities to be found in the Formula One pitlane at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix.

Golfers never do care about the weather and, accordingly, South African Golfer Ernie Els was playing it cool in the uncertain climate of Spa. “I love racing because it’s the antidote to golf. And I always am amazed to see what Bernie has built up in the last 20 years. I also came here to pay him my respect.”

Meanwhile, former French tennis ace Henry Leconte came to lend his moral support to long-time friend Eddie Jordan. “I know Eddie since 1983. This is when I caught the Formula One virus. Since that time I am a big, big race fan. I love to see these guys compete against each other at top speed. Naturally I think it’s fantastic what Michael has achieved but for today I would like to see Jarno win again. To break the red winning streak.”
