Button hearing expected in two weeks 12 Sep 2004
The Contract Recognition Board (CRB) is likely to meet to discuss Jenson Buttons future on the Sunday of the Chinese Grand Prix, Frank Williams has told reporters in Monza.
His team and BAR both claim to have valid contracts with Button for the 2005 season, and a hearing over the matter will take place on Sunday September 26, according to Williams. Both teams have said they will not contest any CRB judgement.
However, an immediate decision is not expected from the CRB following the hearing. Last time I was up before the board it was about three weeks, maybe longer, said Williams.
BAR driver Button lies third in the drivers championship going into this afternoons Italian Grand Prix, with 65 points. He is sixth on the grid behind team mate Takuma Sato.
