Minor knee surgery for Raikkonen 31 Oct 2005
McLarens Kimi Raikkonen is recovering from a minor operation on his knee. The routine procedure, which had been planned for some time, was carried out in Finland last week.
Specialists in Helsinki performed an arthroscopy on Raikkonens left knee - a minimally invasive operation to mend damage to the joint, whereby the surgeon examines inside the area with a tiny camera while making repairs through a small incision.
Raikkonen is expected to be on crutches for a few days, but should be able to resume his normal training regime within a month. He is not due to test for McLaren until early in the New Year.
