With the recent announcements of Christijan Albers at Midland and Nico Rosberg at Williams, the details of who will be on the grid next season are really coming together.
We will have at least two rookie drivers - Rosberg, plus either American Scott Speed or Swiss driver Neel Jani at Squadra Toro Rosso. Notably, all three men are graduates of this seasons inaugural GP2 series.
And, if ex-Formula One driver Aguri Suzuki has his championship entry accepted and can make it to the grid on time, then we will have 11 constructors present when the 2006 campaign gets underway in Bahrain next March. So, with just a handful of seats still to be confirmed, this is how the line-up is looking so far:
Renault Fernando Alonso Giancarlo Fisichella
McLaren Kimi Raikkonen Juan Pablo Montoya
Ferrari Michael Schumacher Felipe Massa
Toyota Ralf Schumacher Jarno Trulli
Williams Mark Webber Nico Rosberg
BAR Honda (exact team name TBC) Jenson Button Rubens Barrichello
