Ferrari wrap up Bahrain session 22 Nov 2005
Ferrari completed their four-day test in Bahrain on Tuesday, with official drivers Luca Badoer and Marc Gene again on track.
On Saturday both men worked on defining the best set-up for the cars at their disposal, namely an F2005 fitted with an engine modified to comply with the 2006 technical regulations and an F2004, fitted with a V8 power unit.
Between them, the drivers covered a total of 109 laps - 47 for Badoer and 62 (one on the short version of the track) for Gene. The best time of the day was set by Badoer in 1m 35.024s, while Gene's quickest effort was a 1m 35.408s.
On Sunday and Monday they carried out a programme centred on the development of the new engine, in collaboration with Shell, as well as a tyre programme taking into account the rule changes for the next season.
Gene set Sunday's fastest time of the day in 1m 34.807s after 87 laps, while Badoer's best performance was a 1m 35.477s, the Italian completing 86 laps. Gene was again quicker on Monday, with a 1m 34.484s after 105 laps, compared to Badoer's 1m 35.804s from 68.
For the final day, Gene completed an endurance test on the new V8 which was started earlier in the week. The Spaniard ran 66 laps, the quickest a 1m 34.455s. Badoer continued a Bridgestone tyre development programme, completing a total of 53 laps, with a best time of 1m 34.588s.
