Former Jordan driver Narain Karthikeyan will get behind the wheel for Williams this week when he helps the team with their winter testing programme at Jerez.

Karthikeyan will join the Cosworth-powered squad on Wednesday, the first day of their three-day session at the Spanish circuit. The 28-year old from Chennai, India, will drive the Williams FW27C interim chassis and will work alongside Nico Rosberg.

“Narain will be in Jerez to help us with normal testing duties,” confirmed Williams technical director Sam Michael. “At this stage of development of the FW27C, we have a series of systems checks and initial set-up investigations to complete.”

Williams have yet to confirm their third driver for next season. Karthikeyan, who scored five points in his debut season this year, is still looking for a 2006 seat after he was replaced at MF1 (formerly Jordan) by Christijan Albers.
