Local weather forecasts did mention the possibility of showers, and they hit Melbourne early this morning. The Formula One world awoke to wet streets, and an ambient temperature that is currently only 10 degrees Celsius with only medium prospects of improving.

As these words are being written it is raining outside as the teams await the start of the day’s first practice session, and the skies are grey and cloudy.

This may ease the tyre conservation problem as wets will be the initial order of the day at the very least, but locals suggest the weather may stay the same tomorrow, too.
