Ferrari return to testing at Monza 19 Apr 2005
The world champions were back in action on Monday, resuming their intensive testing schedule in a bid to close the performance gap to Renault ahead of this weekends San Marino Grand Prix.
Luca Badoer was the man on driving duty at Monza, at the wheel of an F2004 M. Ferraris technical programme for the session centred on engine testing and Bridgestone tyre development.
After a disappointing start to the season, Bridgestones motorsport director Hiroshi Yasukawa is confident of improvement at Imola. We do believe that the Ferrari - Bridgestone package is growing stronger each day and there is also a huge amount of potential yet to come, he said. We fully expect to see a competitive performance from them this weekend."
Badoer ran for the entire day on a Monza layout modified with the addition of two chicanes. The Italian completed a total of 463 kilometres. He continues testing at the circuit on Tuesday.
