Following their purchase of Jordan in January, the Midland Group have now also bought the team’s Brackley wind tunnel facility, which was not included in the original deal.

The team, who are expected to be renamed for the 2006 season, say they intend to invest heavily in the tunnel, upgrading it to cope with 50 percent scale models rather than the current 40 percent limit.

"The acquisition of the wind tunnel facility in Brackley is definitely the right way to go for our team and this will help us make a big step forward,” said Jordan team principal and Managing Director Colin Kolles.

Trevor Carlin, Jordan’s sporting director, added: "We are very pleased that the purchase of the wind tunnel has now gone through. It is a crucial addition to our technical department and hopefully it will help us to build a much more successful 2006 car."

That car will also be the first to benefit from Jordan’s continuing technical collaboration with Italian chassis builders Dallara.
