Briatore to stay on at Renault 23 Apr 2005
Renault team boss Flavio Briatore has extended his contract with the championship leaders through to the end of the 2006 season, it was revealed on Saturday.
“We are extremely pleased with the work the team has done, and the results it has achieved, under Flavio Briatore's management,” said Renault team President Patrick Faure. “This decision has been taken with the full agreement of our future CEO, M Carlos Ghosn, who wishes to maintain the stability of a winning team.”
Briatore’s connections with the team, previously Benetton, date back to the late 1980s. Having finished third in the 2004 constructors’ championship, they lead the table this season, having won all three races so far.
