Big crowds in Magny-Cours 03 Jul 2005
Despite the lack of a home driver, tens of thousands of race fans have flocked to Magny-Cours for this weekend's French Grand Prix.
No fewer than 160,000 spectators have enjoyed the spectacle during the three days of the race weekend. Strong publicity by the organisers has drawn in the fans, with 30,000 attending on Friday, 50,000 on Saturday and 80,000 for the race itself.
After two days of overcast weather, spectators also seem likely to be rewarded by the hot weather that was originally forecast. The skies are clear and the sun is out - current air temperature a searing 30 degrees Celcius.
