Sometimes when the end is in sight, that is the time that generates the most energy. That was certainly the case at Saturday nights Mild Seven Renault party - a hedonistic bash to call time on tobacco advertising in Europe.
Budapests coolest summer spot was the location - the Pomodoro Garden. Owned by Giovanni and Giotto -Hungarys top lifestyle television commentators - it is a beach club in the hills of Buda, with Marrakech-style furniture and white Rio sand. On this occasion it shunned the colour red - Pomodoro is Italian for tomato - and turned Mild Seven blue instead.
A whos who of Formula One racing turned up - even some who had to race the next day - to dance to hot rhythms and line up for a beachwear fashion show that would not look out of place on the pages of Sports Illustrated magazine. Some guests even started to build sand castles, perhaps to get themselves in the holiday mood ahead of the three-week break before the next Grand Prix in Turkey.
When they finally left for some well-earned sleep it was way past the witching hour. The venue was still packed as the hosts called time on one of those nights Formula One racing is famous for. Partying at its best!
