Ferrari resume testing at Monza 02 Aug 2005
Champions determined to end season on a high
Ferrari wasted no time in getting back to the test track following Michael Schumachers impressive outing in Hungary.
As the nine other Formula One teams were starting a three-week summer break, the world champions had Luca Badoer in action at Monza on Monday.
Badoer, at the wheel of an F2005, covered 110 laps of the Italian Grand Prix circuit, with a best time of 1m 23.054s. That compares with Rubens Barrichellos 2004 fastest race lap of 1m 21.046s. Badoers programme focused on tyre and aerodynamic developments for forthcoming races.
Conditions for Ferraris Monza test were fine and sunny, with track temperatures peaking at 46 degrees Celsius. The team continue testing at the circuit on Tuesday, again with Badoer in the cockpit.
Monza is also scheduled to host the next major multi-team test in the week following the inaugural Turkish Grand Prix, which takes place on August 21.
