Sato, Pizzonia punished for crashes 11 Sep 2005
BARs Takuma Sato will drop ten places on the grid for the Brazilian Grand Prix in two weeks time as penalty for his clash with Michael Schumacher at Spa on Sunday.
Sato ran into the rear of Schumachers Ferrari going into the La Source hairpin just after the safety car had pulled back into the pits on lap 14. After consultating the two drivers, stewards deemed the Japanese star responsible for the accident, which put both men out of the race.
Meanwhile, Williams Antonio Pizzonia was fined for crashing into Juan Pablo Montoyas McLaren in the closing stages of the race as the Brazilian attempted to unlap himself. Both men were forced to retire as a result of the incident.
