BAR, Ferrari begin Spanish tests 14 Sep 2005
As their rivals were busy pounding around Silverstone on Tuesday, BAR and Ferrari took to the track in slightly warmer climes, the former at Barcelonas Circuit de Catalunya and the latter at Jerez.
BAR began their three-day programme with Brazilian tester Enrique Bernoldi and Young Driver programme members Adam Carroll and James Rossiter. Bernoldi completed close to 90 laps of aero and suspension work, despite an unexpected shower dampening the track in the afternoon.
Carroll, meanwhile, focussed on set-up and rear suspension and when he and Bernoldi werent on track, Rossiter got his first Barcelona outing at the wheel of BARs 2006 development car.
Marc Gene was charged with Ferraris Jerez programme, which centred on Bridgestone tyre development for the final three events of the season. The Spaniard completed 80 laps at the wheel of the F2005, the quickest a 1m18.975s. Gene continues testing on Wednesday.
