Di Grassi to debut with Renault at Jerez 28 Sep 2005
Brazilian Lucas Di Grassi, a member of Renault’s Driver Development programme, will make his Formula One debut with the team this week in their final test of the 2005 season at Jerez.
Di Grassi, 21, will join regular Renault tester Franck Montagny at the Spanish circuit as the team work on choosing tyres for the last two races of the year, as well as putting valuable test mileage on further updates to both the R25 car and its V10 engine.
Di Grassi, a former Brazilian and South American karting champion, finished eighth in last year’s British Formula Three championship with two victories and four podiums. This season he has been competing in the Formula Three Euro series and with just one round remaining he lies third in the driver standings.
