New Ferrari takes to the track - updated 16 Jan 2006
The car which Ferrari will use to contest the 2006 FIA Formula One World Championship made an unexpectedly early debut at the Fiorano circuit in Italy on Monday.
In freezing temperatures, Michael Schumacher did 51 shakedown laps in the new machine, currently known only by its 657 project code number, his best time a 59.569s.
Weather permitting, development testing will continue at Fiorano on Friday, January 20 ahead of the car's official launch at Mugello on Tuesday, January 24.
