MF1 wrap up Silverstone session 23 Jan 2006
MF1 Racing completed a four-day test at Silverstone on Friday, running their interim EJ15B chassis, powered by Toyotas V8 engine, along with the Midland-owned teams 2006 gearbox, electronics and rear suspension package.
Ahead of the launch of the new MF1 Toyota M16 next month, the team had both Tiago Monteiro and Christijan Albers in action. Only Monteiro was fortunate to get any dry running, the Portuguese driver setting a best time of 1m 26.710s. Albers quickest wet lap was a 1m 34.330s.
"We have had a very productive week at Silverstone, despite the wintry damp conditions, managing to accumulate over 1200km with Tiago and Christijan, reported the teams sporting director, Adrian Burgess. This has given us a good insight to the major parts of the M16 car and the reliability has given us confidence for the package as a whole"
The M16 will be officially launched on Friday, February 3.
