Midland wrapped up their two-day Silverstone test on Thursday, with Swiss driver Giorgio Mondini carrying out straight-line work in showery conditions on the circuit’s Tower Straight. Mondini completed a total of 59 straight-line passes and 56 starts in the team’s Toyota-powered M16 machine.

"Today was a dedicated control systems test,” explained Dominic Harlow, Midland’s chief race and test engineer. “We couldn't control the weather, obviously, but we did manage to come away with plenty of valuable data.

"This concludes our two-day test at Silverstone and we expect the information we have gained here will result in some improvements to our launch strategy."
