Weekend weather update - hot and dry 08 Jun 2006
Welcome to Silverstone and the British Grand Prix, the eighth round in the 2006 FIA Formula One World Championship.
The British weather is notoriously fickle, but as these words are written the forecast for the weekend is not only settled, but very clement.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday will all be sunny with little cloud and expected ambient temperatures of around 25 degrees Celsius, while on race day this could rise to 28. There is a low chance of isolated showers in the area each day.
The race will run over 60 laps of the 5.141 kilometre (3.194 mile) track, making a total distance of 308.355 kilometres (191.604 miles). Note that this year the start time has been brought forward to 12 noon local time (1100 GMT).
