Welcome back to qualifying day for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

It is definitely cooler this morning, but sunny so far, and it may transpire that the storms forecast for today actually blew themselves out here last night when there was thunder, lightning and plenty of rain.

That being so, expect an ambient temperature around 23 degrees Celsius, less humidity, and then sun and 25 degrees plus for the race tomorrow.

The 5.793 kilometre (3.600 mile) circuit has largely been resurfaced since last year’s race, so it remains to be seen what effect that will have on lap times. The 53-lap event will run over 306.720 kilometres (190.596 miles) and will start at 1400 hrs local time, 1200 hours GMT.
