GP2 driver Adrian Valles will get his first taste of a Formula One car later this month when he tests for Midland at Silverstone.

The 19-year-old Spaniard will get behind the wheel of the team’s M16 car during their planned session of September 19-20.

"I am very pleased to have my first F1 drive with Spyker MF1 Racing,” said Valles. “It is the perfect opportunity to demonstrate my capabilities, and I know that I will to reward them for the confidence they are showing in me."

"Adrian has impressed the team with his performances in both Renault World Series and GP2,” added Midland’s managing director Colin Kolles. “We understand the importance of being the first to test young talents like Adrian in order to assess their potential for Formula One, and we are looking forward to a good performance from him."

Valles will be the first new driver to test for Midland following the announcement of the team’s takeover by Spyker.
