Friday outings for Premat and Viso 20 Sep 2006
GP2 frontrunners Alexandre Premat and Ernesto Viso have been revealed among the Midland teams third drivers for the remaining races of 2006. Premat and Viso will make their Grand Prix debuts in China and Brazil respectively, with Adrian Sutil back in the cockpit for Japan following his earlier outings at the Nurburgring and Magny-Cours.
Frenchman Premat, 24, recently clinched third place in the 2006 GP2 series, one place up on his 2005 showing. In preparation for Shanghai, he will get his maiden Formula One test with the team at Silverstone on Wednesday September 20.
Viso, meanwhile, will get his first taste of the M16 car, also at Silverstone, on Wednesday October 11. The 21-year-old Venezuelan was sixth in the 2006 GP2 championship with two wins, after his 11th place in the standings last year.
German driver Sutil, 23, is the current leader of the Japanese F3 championship and was runner-up in the 2005 F3 Euroseries. He has already made two successful appearances as Midlands Friday driver this season at the German and French Grands Prix.
