BMW Sauber commence Jerez test
|
Robert Kubica and Sebastian Vettel were on track for BMW Sauber on Tuesday, as the team began a three-day test at the Jerez circuit in Spain.
After an hours delay in the morning due to fog, Vettel carried out a shakedown run, along with work on electronics for next year. Kubicas focus was development for the final 2006 races, in particular suspension, dampers, set-up and new aero parts.
Kubica was the quicker of the two, the Pole clocking a best time of 1m 17.566s from his 86 laps. Vettel racked up 66 laps, the Germans fastest a 1m 18.931s. Kubica continues testing on Wednesday, when BMW will be joined at Jerez by Honda, while Nick Heidfeld takes over from Vettel.
