Vettel to see out 2006 with BMW Sauber
BMW Sauber have confirmed that Sebastian Vettel will continue as the teams third driver for the last three races of the season. After successful Friday outings at the Turkish and Italian Grands Prix, Vettel will now also drive in China, Japan and Brazil.
The 19-year-old German was drafted in last month as a temporary replacement for Robert Kubica, who had been promoted into Jacques Villeneuves race seat. After an impressive debut in Istanbul (where he topped the times), Vettel was retained for Monza (where he was also quickest) and now he is looking forward to the challenge of Shanghai.
The circuit is a new one and looks quite tricky, commented Vettel. I have seen a lot of drivers on television making a lot of mistakes. There's a high-speed straight, another straight and a hairpin corner. It will be difficult to find the right braking point. I'm looking forward to gaining a lot of new experiences in China."
Along with his Formula One duties, Vettel is also busy racing in the Formula 3 Euroseries. He will compete in Barcelona this weekend before heading to Shanghai to join up with BMW Sauber.
