McLaren launch to feature street demonstration 12 Jan 2007
Fernando Alonso and McLaren team mate Lewis Hamilton will power through the streets of Valencia in Spain on Monday, as part of festivities marking the unveiling of the teams 2007 car. Alonso and Hamilton will use last years MP4-21 for a spectacular demonstration run around the launch venue, before the wraps come off its successor, the MP4-22.
The McLaren presentation will take place at the Cuidad de las Artes y las Ciencias, starting with the street display from 1900 local time. This will begin with all four McLaren drivers - including testers Pedro de la Rosa and Gary Paffett - in a series of Mercedes-Benz road cars, before the teams two race stars and their Formula One machinery take central stage.
The event will be the publics first chance to see world champion Alonso in action since he became an official McLaren race driver at the start of 2007.
