Practice outing for Nakajima in Shanghai
|
Williams test driver Kazuki Nakajima will make another Grand Prix appearance this weekend when he participates in Friday practice in Shanghai. Nakajima, recently named GP2 rookie of the year, is still hoping to land a Formula One race seat for 2008.
I'm turning my attention to this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix, where I'm driving the FW29 during first practice on Friday, confirmed the Japanese driver on Williams official website. It's very important that I do a good job for the team to help them prepare for Sunday's race.
Nakajima, son of ex-Formula One driver Satoru, impressed in several practice sessions with Williams earlier in the season, but has recently concentrated his efforts on his GP2 commitments, which culminated in his finishing fifth in the series following last weekends finale in Valencia.
I've learnt a lot this year and whatever I end up doing in 2008 - Formula One or another season of GP2 - the things I've learnt this year will stand me in good stead, he added.
Nakajima is a graduate of Toyotas driver programme and media speculation has already linked him to 2008 race seats with either Toyota, who lose Ralf Schumacher at the end of this season, or the Toyota-powered Williams squad, who have yet to confirm their '08 line-up.
